A striking one-of-a-kind crossbody crafted in rich buckskin leather, Horseman features the original modified Turquoise Bit Bag design that first debuted at New York Fashion Week.
At the center is a full double horse bit, with turquoise set into both pieces of the bit, creating a bold and unmistakable focal point. Long buckskin fringe adds movement and texture, while silver detailing brings a refined contrast to the warmth of the leather. A raw-edge back pocket preserves the natural character of the hide and gives the piece a beautifully handcrafted finish.
Measuring approximately 10” wide by 10 1/4” tall, Horseman is a distinctive statement piece rooted in original design, craftsmanship, and effortless elegance.
THE ORIGINAL TURQUOISE BIT
This piece features Ride Free’s original modified horse bit design, first created by us as a way to transform traditional horse tack into something completely unexpected.
Each bit is individually reworked by my husband, Bo, a welder, fabricator, silversmith, and lifelong maker. Because the metals used in traditional horse bits are not normally meant to be joined in this way, Bo developed specialized techniques to successfully fuse the different metals while maintaining the strength and integrity of the original piece.
It is a process that takes experience, precision, and a deep understanding of the materials.
The result is a horse bit unlike anything off the shelf. Each one carries its own markings, patina, and character, making every piece truly one of a kind.
