Distressed brown leather and long, draping Kodiak fur give this one-of-a-kind crossbody a raw, unmistakably Montana presence.
A Southwestern-style leather strap adds character, while leather fringe brings movement and texture. The triple number-eight hanging horse bit detail creates a distinctive bit-bag-inspired silhouette, finished with antique nickel hardware and handmade by Bo on the Ranch.
Scars, markings, and natural variations are part of its story and meant to be loved. With a raw-edge finish back pocket and a bold crossbody shape made for the runway -or wherever the road leads -this piece carries rugged Western spirit with effortless style.
Roughly 10” wide by 10” tall.
THE ORIGINAL TURQUOISE BIT
This piece features Ride Free’s original modified horse bit design, first created by us as a way to transform traditional horse tack into something completely unexpected.
Each bit is individually reworked by my husband, Bo, a welder, fabricator, silversmith, and lifelong maker. Because the metals used in traditional horse bits are not normally meant to be joined in this way, Bo developed specialized techniques to successfully fuse the different metals while maintaining the strength and integrity of the original piece.
It is a process that takes experience, precision, and a deep understanding of the materials.
The result is a horse bit unlike anything off the shelf. Each one carries its own markings, patina, and character, making every piece truly one of a kind.
Built by hand on our family ranch and made with the intention of lasting a lifetime.
